Eiji Miyamoto, First graduating class of Kansai Soka Elementary School

When Mr Miyamoto was a junior in high school, he had a traffic accident and had to get 108 stitches on his face. The doctor said he might lose the sight in his right eye, maybe the left as well.

After hearing of this incident, founder Mr Ikeda wrote “Mission” in Japanese calligraphy and sent it to Mr Miyamoto to encourage him. After receiving these warm words and encouragement from the founder, Mr Miyamoto was determined to overcome his injury. He chanted with utmost sincerity until three months later he was discharged from the hospital in good health and with good eyesight.
