A light hearted event when Ikeda Sensei and the Late Cuban Leader Met

SGI President Ikeda visited Cuba in June 1996, the government of Cuba has rapidly deepened its understanding of Soka Gakkai. To the great surprise of many, when the Cuban leader Fidel Castro met with Mr Ikeda, he appeared in a suit, rather than in his usual military uniform. “Your suit style is very becoming.” Mr Ikeda told Mr Castro. “Well, I wanted to wear a suit appropriate for welcoming a man of peace,” the Cuban leader responded.
