A Kansai member recalls meeting SGI President Ikeda for the first time, when he was a youth leading the historic Osaka Campaign on the front lines.

Many years later, a Kansai member recounts to SGI President Ikeda when he first met him during the Osaka Campaign:

“I will never forget a discussion meeting that you attended during the Osaka Campaign. You arrived at the meeting place like a valiant young warrior, with a copy of the Gosho in your hand.

After listening to members’ experiences, you praised them wholeheartedly. Whenever there was a question, you located the appropriate Gosho passage and answered clearly. Sometimes you made jokes to lighten the atmosphere. We had such a good time and were so happy that we laughed and shed tears of joy.

By the end of the meeting, all of the dozen or more guests present decided to join the Soka Gakkai. This vibrant and cheerful discussion meeting was a turning point in my life.”
