“Nichiren Daishonin writes: ‘Life is limited; we must not begrudge it. What we should ultimately aspire to is the Buddha land’ (WND-1, 214). The first two presidents of the Soka Gakkai, Tsunesaburo Makiguchi and Josei Toda, selflessly dedicated their lives to propagating the Mystic Law in complete accord with this teaching. That is also why, as third president and the disciple who directly and faithfully inherited their legacy, I am determined to keep striving together with the youth who are our successors, forging ahead bravely and vigorously to the full extent of my power to write a new and glorious page in the history of kosen-rufu.​
