I fought with all my might in that campaign. I travelled all over Kansai.  I have fond memories of each town and city.”

In my youth, I launched a momentous new wave in our great people’s movement from here in Kansai. I was about the same age of many of you here today. I will never forget the memories of those days when I gave my all alongside my friends in Kansai. . . .

The campaign we waged in Osaka in 1956 heralded the dawn of the victory of the people. The newspaper headlines shouted, “The Impossible Has Been Achieved.” I fought with all my might in that campaign. I travelled all over Kansai. So I have fond memories of each town and city. . .

I hope that you, too, will create history. . . . It is crucial that you keep on striving to the end, that you live courageously through all obstacles and write an indestructible history. . . . .

It was also here in Kansai that I suffered persecution by the authorities, just like that which the Daishonin describes in his writings. I bore the full brunt of the schemes of the three powerful enemies of Buddhism in the Osaka Incident in July 3, 1957. . . I was 29 at the time.
