Now once again, I will write the history of my shared struggle with mentor.”

In January 1961, SGI President Ikeda visited Hong Kong, India and other places in Asia, which also laid the foundation for kosen-rufu of the Pearl of the Orient! Various media and organizations in Hong Kong also expressed their condolences towards Daisaku Ikeda’s passing.

Soka Gakkai was founded on 18 November 1930, as “Value-Creating Education Society” by the Japanese educators, Makiguchi Sensei and Toda Sensei. It was both Makiguchi and Toda Sensei’s wish to establish a value creating educational institution one day. It was Ikeda sensei who realised this compassionate vow of Makiguchi and Toda Sensei.

Our eternal mentor, Daisaku Ikeda, a peacebuilder, Buddhist philosopher, educator, author and poet, passed away on 15 November 2023 at the age of 95.
