In 1957, the young Ikeda was arrested on false charges of violating the election laws and detained in jail. While the young Ikeda shouldered all false accusations to prevent his mentor from being arrested, Mr Toda refuses to allow any mishaps to happen to his beloved disciple.
“I am proud that I love youth more than anyone. There is no one who can create the future, the next era, except youth… I trust youth. Youth are jewels. This is my conclusion of the human race.”

Our eternal mentor, Daisaku Ikeda, a peacebuilder, Buddhist philosopher, educator, author and poet, passed away on 15 November 2023 at the age of 95.
