Ikeda Sensei took his mentor’s words to heart and encouraged one member after another to join in the struggle of realising 100,000 members, which seemed an impossible dream when there were only about 10,000 YMD members in the year 1954.

He (Takashi Koizumi) remarked: “No matter what anyone says, Mr Ikeda is the person who has worked hardest for the Soka Gakkai since his early youth. Because he has worked the hardest, it is only natural that he should become president of our organisation.”

The members of SGI (Soka Gakkai International) around the world mourn for the passing of Daisaku Ikeda Sensei as they set out vigorously on a new journey towards worldwide kosen-rufu on November 18, Soka Gakkai’s Founding Day. Leaders of various countries also voice their condolences and their determination.

Our eternal mentor, Daisaku Ikeda, a peacebuilder, Buddhist philosopher, educator, author and poet, passed away on 15 November 2023 at the age of 95.
This site is to honour this great man who change the course of mankind. We will be reporting live on any activities while recapping the great life of Daisaku Ikeda, his achievement and legacy.
