The Japan Times has reported the amazing lifetime efforts of our mentor, Daisaku Ikeda, including:

  1. Travelling to more than 50 countries for talks with well-known figures 
  2. Publishing a number of books on Buddhism and dialogues with intellectuals 
  3. Founding the precursor to Komeito 
  4. Founding Soka Gakkai International, and as the third President, beginning the new era of innovation and expansion of the movement 

Ikeda Sensei was not without critics when achieving such unprecedented feats. However, he strongly believed that “nothing important can be accomplished if you allow yourself to be swayed by some trifling matter, always looking over your shoulder and wondering what others are saying or thinking.” He left behind these words for his disciples, to ponder and implement in our actions.
