Following the death of Daisaku Ikeda, honorary president of Soka Gakkai, a support group for Komeito, on the 15th of this month, Prime Minister Kishida visited the Soka Gakkai headquarters in Tokyo on the night of the 19th to pay his condolences. 

At around 7:30 p.m., Prime Minister Kishida visited the Soka Gakkai headquarters annex in Shinanomachi, Tokyo, as the president of the Liberal Democratic Party, to pay his condolences.

He reportedly met with President Minoru Harada, and his eldest son Hiromasa Ikeda, Soka Gakkai Executive Vice President.

On the 18th, Prime Minister Kishida wrote on his old Twitter account “X”, `I am deeply saddened by the news of Daisaku Ikeda’s passing.
