Daishonin accomplished the purpose of his appearance in this world — that is, the inscription of the Dai-Gohonzon for the enlightenment of all humankind — after seeing his followers in Atsuhara intrepidly demonstrate the faith attitude of “not begrudging their lives.” In other words, the Daishonin achieved his life’s purpose and fulfilled his vow for kosen-rufu precisely because disciples appeared who would carry on his vow.
Stated another way, the disciples’ perpetuation of his vow means that each of them is solidly developing faith dedicated to realising kosen-rufu. The foundation of such faith is the spirit of “not begrudging one’s life.” Carrying on such selfless dedication represents the heritage of faith in Buddhism!
