“To protect our noble organization, I have exerted myself in ways unknown to others. I was determined to work harder than anyone could imagine. When propagation efforts didn’t progress as expected, I promised Mr. Toda that I would take care of the situation. I threw myself into our propagation campaign in Tokyo’s Bunkyo Chapter (in 1953), where new membership had come to a virtual standstill, and later into the Osaka Campaign (in 1956). When Mr. Toda was struggling with business problems, I assured him I would turn the situation around and did everything possible to support and assist him.“
