Discerning what was in my heart, Mr Toda said to me:  “Daisaku! You’re trying to kill yourself! You’ve decided to give your life for my sake. But I won’t have it! You must live — live out your life to the fullest! I will give you my life so that you may do so.”

I regard my life today as a gift from my mentor.
