When Ikeda Sensei was 26 years old, he accompanied Toda Sensei to his hometown, Atsuta Village.  Facing the red sunset of the Sea of Japan, Toda Sensei said:  “I will lay the foundation for kosen-rufu in Japan.  You will open the path of kosen-rufu to the entire world.  Although it is only a thought, you can give your all to it.”  This solemn exchange of mentor and disciple in Atsuta has become the origin of worldwide kosen-rufu and the cornerstone of SGI movement in the world today.  When Ikeda Sensei returned to Tokyo, he composed the poem “Atsuta Village” and is now erected in Toda Memorial Park today.
