On July 3, 1957, Ikeda Sensei was summoned for questioning by the Osaka Prefectural Police Headquarters while in the midst of battling the unjust actions of the Coal Miners’ Union in Yubari.
Ikeda Sensei was arrested based on a charge that was proven later to be totally groundless. Ikeda Sensei was jailed and interrogated for 2 weeks. During that period, he was falsely accused of vote solicitation and the prosecutors had pressed for Ikeda Sensei to sign a false confession, threatening to arrest Toda Sensei, raid Soka Gakkai and Toda Sensei’s businesses.
