No matter how severe the circumstances confronting the Gakkai, or how much malicious, devious people were trying to plot and scheme to undermine our\u00a0<\/span>organisation<\/span>,\u00a0<\/span>Mr<\/span> Toda and I always enjoyed a deep bond and affinity, like father and son, like family<\/span>\u200b\u200b<\/h4>\n

I have many memories of\u00a0<\/span>Mr<\/span>\u00a0Toda\u2019s birthdays. One year, I remember arriving at his house early in the morning and saying, \u201cHappy Birthday, Sensei!\u201d He was surprised, but happy to see me, remarking that he\u2019d been expecting me to drop by a little later in the day. Another year, we shared traditional festive dishes such as steamed rice with adzuki beans and sweet adzuki-bean soup.\u00a0<\/span>\u200b<\/p>\n
