I stepped down as the third president of the\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Soka<\/span><\/span>\u00a0Gakkai in April 1979. This was brought\u00a0<\/span><\/span>about by an ugly conspiracy between envious\u00a0<\/span><\/span>priests and treacherous former top Gakkai\u00a0<\/span><\/span>leaders, as you all know. From that moment, I\u00a0<\/span><\/span>stood up alone and rebuilt the Gakkai as it\u00a0<\/span><\/span>exists today. This has been my life and my\u00a0<\/span><\/span>cause. Mr Toda said that no matter what the\u00a0<\/span><\/span>difficulty or situation, it is vital to stand up and\u00a0<\/span><\/span>face it with a sense of personal responsibility.\u00a0<\/span><\/span>The Gakkai would never have become the\u00a0<\/span><\/span>organisation it is today through schemes or\u00a0<\/span><\/span>clever manoeuvring. If the cause is right and\u00a0<\/span><\/span>just, stand up alone and fight for it! Adhering\u00a0<\/span><\/span>to this mentor-disciple spirit, I have won and\u00a0<\/span><\/span>the Gakkai has won.<\/span><\/span>\u200b<\/span><\/p>\n
