Unless we wage a great struggle for the happiness of all people with the same dedication as the mentor \u2014 just as the Buddha and the Bodhisattvas of the Earth have struggled together as one since the distant past \u2014 we cannot call ourselves the lion\u2019s cubs<\/span>\u200b<\/h4>\n

From the perspective of those who are the Buddha\u2019s disciples, people who just revere the Buddha from afar as mere bystanders do not qualify as genuine disciples.<\/span>\u200b<\/p>\n

Unless we wage a great struggle for the happiness of all people with the same dedication as the mentor \u2014 just as the Buddha and the Bodhisattvas of the Earth have struggled together as one since the distant past \u2014 we cannot call ourselves the lion\u2019s cubs. Worse, if we are lion cubs whose actions incur the ridicule of \u201cfoxes,\u201d then we do not qualify as successors of the lion king.<\/span>\u200b<\/p>\n

We only carry on the legacy of the Lotus Sutra, the scripture of the oneness of mentor and disciple, when we firmly make the heart of a lion king our own and struggle as one with the mentor!<\/span><\/p>\n
