The\u00a0<\/span>Soka<\/span>\u00a0Gakkai has realised tremendous growth by emulating the spirit of\u00a0<\/span>Nichiren<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Daishonin<\/span>, President\u00a0<\/span>Makiguchi<\/span>\u00a0and President Toda.\u00a0<\/span>Kosen-rufu<\/span>\u00a0has advanced precisely because of this commitment to the oneness of mentor and disciple in our practice.<\/span>\u200b<\/h4>\n

President Toda said: \u201cDisciples have to follow the path of a disciple. Both in word and deed, we have to reveal the mentor\u2019s teaching with our lives.\u201d President Ikeda have struggled for all these years with this awareness.<\/span>\u200b<\/p>\n

Through his example, the\u00a0<\/span>Daishonin<\/span>\u00a0taught his followers what it means to practise in accord with the Buddha\u2019s teaching, as expounded in the Lotus Sutra. This is something for which we are most fortunate.\u00a0 Practising in accord with the Buddha\u2019s teaching constitutes the path of a disciple. This entails steadfastly taking action in accord with the mentor\u2019s teaching.<\/span><\/p>\n
