As May 3 approached, I wrote in my diary:<\/span>\u200b<\/p>\n

\u201cWill fight to prove my mentor\u2019s greatness\u00a0<\/span>to the world. Will advance, straight ahead.\u00a0<\/span>Will fight resolutely, riding over the\u00a0<\/span>violent waves of obstacles and devils.\u00a0<\/span>Have entered the essential part of my\u00a0<\/span>youth.\u201d\u00a0<\/span>\u200b<\/p>\n

I was convinced that it was up to the\u00a0<\/span>youth to speak out passionately and\u00a0<\/span>uphold their mentor\u2019s cause, that it was up\u00a0<\/span>to the disciples to become blazing\u00a0<\/span>beacons of the Gakkai spirit and to fight\u00a0<\/span>with the strength and courage of charging\u00a0<\/span>lions.<\/span><\/p>\n
