He often said to me: \u201c<\/span>Daisaku<\/span>, I\u2019m counting on you,\u201d\u00a0<\/span>\u201cYouth division, I\u2019m counting on you.\u201d To him, I was\u00a0<\/span>the youth division. I served and supported my mentor\u00a0<\/span>Mr Toda with everything I had. I can proudly and\u00a0<\/span>confidently declare to all\u00a0<\/span>Buddhas<\/span>\u00a0and bodhisattvas\u00a0<\/span>throughout the ten directions and three existences of\u00a0<\/span>past, present, and future: \u201cThe disciple,\u00a0<\/span>Daisaku<\/span>\u00a0Ikeda,\u00a0<\/span>supported his great teacher, Josei Toda, and served\u00a0<\/span>him with his entire being.\u201d This is the\u00a0<\/span>Soka<\/span>\u00a0Gakkai\u00a0<\/span>spirit.<\/span>\u200b<\/p>\n

Whose turn is it now? It\u2019s the turn of all of you. \u201cIt\u2019s\u00a0<\/span>my turn!\u201d\u2014this is something for each person to decide\u00a0<\/span>in their own hearts. Those who can make such an\u00a0<\/span>inner resolve are truly admirable. It has nothing to do\u00a0<\/span>with one\u2019s age or position in the organisation. This is\u00a0<\/span>the way of Buddhism.<\/span><\/p>\n
