During World War II, only Mr Makiguchi and Mr Toda carried on the Daishonin’s lion-like spirit. The priesthood, in stark contrast, succumbed to cowardly self-interest. The Daishonin’s legacy as a selfless lion king lives on today in the Soka Gakkai alone. We have faithfully inherited his courageous and ungrudging spirit, and have thereby opened wide the path to worldwide kosen-rufu. Our benefit, as a result, is also immense beyond measure. With this powerful conviction, let us reach out to even more people and share with them the true greatness of the Soka path of mentor and disciple!​
