When Mr Toda was president, there were many leaders senior to me. Nonetheless, I never held back when it came to those who didn’t follow Mr Toda’s guidance or who acted irresponsibly. I confronted such people directly, and when I thought something was wrong, I said so, clearly expressing my honest opinion. And I worked extremely hard to unite everyone behind Mr Toda.​

Mr Toda said: “Don’t rely on your seniors. Young people must take full responsibility for creating an ideal Soka Gakkai.” I did not rely on any of my seniors. Adhering to Mr Toda’s words, I have striven since my youth to build an ideal Soka Gakkai through my own efforts.​​
